WHO ARE WE?

MTL-SONO is a non-profit point-of-care ultrasound conference hosted by the McGill Ultrasound Interest Group. The conference is a two-day training event aimed at bringing together residents, students, and experts in ultrasound imaging techniques and research from across Canada and beyond to provide enriching experiences for physicians and traineesIt will feature hands-on point-of-care ultrasound training as well as didactic lectures by experts in PoCUS education.

We understand how expensive PoCUS courses are for trainees and want to offer excellent ultrasound instruction for an affordable price, while fostering inter-university collaboration and knowledge exchange. We are proud to be the first student-run, non-profit, CPoCUS-recognized ultrasound training conference in Canada!

 

At the MTL SONO Conference, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us. The proceeds generated from this exceptional event will be dedicated to furthering point-of-care ultrasound education. By attending the conference, not only will you enrich your knowledge and skills, but you will also be contributing to a greater cause – empowering medical professionals with better access to top-notch ultrasound education. HOW WILL IT WORK?

 

  • Engaging lectures on a wide variety of core PoCUS topics

  • Interactive workshops hosted in an open environment

  • Hands-on ultrasound scanning experience 

  • Latest ultrasound technology at your fingertips

  • World-renowned PoCUS instructors

  • Maximum 4 attendees per instructor

  • Attendance is limited to 60 participants

  • Covid-19 precautions will be maintained throughout the conference

MTL-SONO Student Grant and Scholarships

We will be providing ONE grant for student-run projects that promote POCUS education or outreach initiatives in their communities.
Application deadline: September 26th, 2024

Value: $1000 CAD​​

We will also be providing TWO scholarships, which include full admission to the 2024 MTL-SONO Conference.
